Thank you for your interest in telling your story about your side business.
Who am I?
I’m John Macdonald, I’m a 49-year old software developer and team leader (you can find me on LinkedIn). I am also a Side Hustle builder. I’ve failed and been successful with various side businesses such as tech contracting/consulting, tech product development, real estate, network marketing, coaching, and e-commerce.
I’m still finding my way, still finding my purposes, and still looking to build side businesses that provide both significance and success. I don’t believe that anyone needs to have a single calling or passion or purpose.
Who am I trying to help?
My goal is to help others, mainly in mid-life, to find a calling and start to build the life they’ve always wanted. You don’t have to be stuck in a job you don’t like. You don’t have to be stuck in a life you don’t like. Stuck in life or career is self-imposed, but that doesn’t mean its easy to get out of it. My goal is to help those people.
Many people in their mid-life/career do not have the option of just quitting and building something from the ground up full time. They have responsibilities, people depending upon them. A side hustle is an excellent opportunity to start to build that new life and career and purpose.
How will this information be used?
The outcome of this exercise is not 100% known, but at the very least it will be articles here on this blog. It may turn into a book, or a keynote speech. It may turn into any myriad of things.
My promise to you:
If you choose to take your valuable time and tell me your story, I promise that I would never use that information in a way that would disrespect you or your business. I ask directly in the survey if you would like to remain anonymous. If you do, then that is my promise. in fact, the survey is actually anonymous, so unless you provide me with your contact info, I won’t know it. If, however, you would like to be named (and your business named) I will do so and cite your information appropriately. Yes, this can be a great marketing tool.
